Welcome to a new world of discovery and challenge,
free to the adventurous.
Wet or fine, we can shake of lethargy, partake in some light exercise called walking and enjoy the sights, sounds
and smells of our super city
“Auckland”.
If you can walk from Pinesong reception to one of the bus stops at our main entrance then you can embark on
many of the day trips.
Should a trip require just a bit more energy you will be warned.
Check out our Q&A section which will help to dispel any reservations.

Walk up to the Pinesong main entrance turn left and there you are.







Bus stop No. 5131



Bus stop No. 5131 Pinesong to Green Bay, Blockhouse Bay, CBD Victoria St. West (by Elliot St.) Bus No. 195
Walk up to the Pinesong main entrance cross over Avonleigh Rd. and once again there you are.
For Britomart and the ferry to Waiheke Island, the easiest way is to bus to New Lynn then catch a train to Britomart.

ALL DAY EXCURSION TO WARKWORTH
All day excursion to Warkworth. When Thurs 28th March 2019.Wet or dry. We will meet at 9:15am at bus stop #5131 (across Avonleigh Rd) catch bus #195 to Victoria St in the city. Then 12min walk down Queen St. turn left into Customs St. then right into lower Albert St. to the Nthn Express Bus Stop 7089.Catch NX1 bus to Hibiscus Coast Station at Silverdale. Then transfer to bus#995 to Bus Stop 4593 at Warkworth where we will spend about 1 +1/2hrs -time for a leisurely lunch and/or walk around the town. At 2:05 pm meet at the same bus stop to catch bus #995 back to Silverdale and transfer to NX1 bus back to lower Albert St. Walk along Albert St to Victoria St to catch bus#195 to Pinesong. Home about 5:00pm.
This is a long trip but is quite enjoyable.
There could be some waiting time between transfers.
Please do not rush to catch a connection and risk injury. Bring this note for reference, also an AT Hop card

Pinesong to New Lynn – Britomart – and return.

Walk up to our main gates, turn left, straight ahead is our bus stop # 5142. Catch bus #195 (tag on) to New Lynn* (tag off). Walk to the Railway Station*. Check the Information board for the next train and platform, (tag on), down to the platforms and wait (usually the left hand platform) catch the next train to Britomart* (tag off). Walk up to street level and you are at Britomart*. To return to Pinesong, walk to the Britomart* railway station, check the information board for your next train and platform, walk down to the platforms (tag on) wait for your selected train. Travel to and get off at the New Lynn* station, walk up to ground level (tag off). Walk to bus stop #5910 that's the one under the big blue 4A sign. Catch bus #195 (tag on). When to get off? Ask the driver to let you off at Pinesong in Avonleigh Rd. Or, as you travel along Castleford St. past the dairy on your right, the bus will climb the rise then slow down at the “Give Way” sign before turning left. At this point press the stop button(tag off).

Pinesong to Auckland Hospital & Starship Childrens Hospital

Walk up to our main gates, turn left, straight ahead is our bus stop # 5142. Catch bus #195 to New Lynn*. Walk to the Railway Station*. Catch the next train to Britomart*. Get off the train at the Grafton Road station.Take the lift or stairs up to Park Road,
Wait at the bus stop at the exit, catch the next Green Inner City Link bus, this will take you to the Park Road Hospital* entrance. As you walk to the entrance note the Inner City Link bus stop #7228 for the return trip. To get home, come out of the Park Road exit. Turn right walk to bus stop #7228 catch the next Green Inner City Link bus to Grafton Railway station, catch the next train to Swanson, get off the train at New Lynn*. Walk to bus stop #5910 under the big blue 4a sign. Catch the next bus #195 to Pinesong.

Pinesong to Waitakere Hospital:

Walk up to our bus stop # 5142. At approx 9:27am catch a bus # 195 to the New Lynn Transport Centre. Walk across the road to the big blue 4b sign. At 10:15am catch bus # 130 to Takapuna. After the bus has turned into Lincoln road press the stop button and get off at Waitakere Hospital.

Pinesong to Greenlane Clinical Centre.

Walk up to our main gates, cross over the road to our bus stop #5131 and catch bus #195 to the City Centre. As you come through Waterview and just before the Pt. Chevalier lights press the stop button, get off at Pt. Chevalier. Walk back to Pt. Chevalier Road turn right and walk to bus stop # 8018. Wait here to catch bus #007 to St. Heliers, as the bus turns into the Hospital gates press the stop button. Note the bus shelter bus stop #1097 for your return trip. To return, walk over to the bus shelter catch bus #007 to Pt. Chevalier, as you go over the motorway press the stop button, get off at stop # 8019. Walk across Pt. Chevalier Rd. to the shops, cross over the Great North Rd. turn left and walk to bus stop # 8130 outside “Kentucky Fried”, catch the next bus #195 to New Lynn.

Pinesong to Pinesong to Sylvia Park Shopping Centre.

Walk up to our main entrance turn left to our bus stop #5142., at approx 9:25 am catch bus #195 to New Lynn*. Head straight for bus stop #5908, by the walkway through to Lynn Mall and bus #009 for Onehunga/ Sylvia Park, it leaves at 10:00am sharp. The bus will eventually turn right into & down Onehunga Mall then go around the back streets before heading for Sylvia Park. When you get to Sylvia Park, note where the bus stop is. When you are ready to come home, catch bus #009 from the same stop back to New Lynn. At New Lynn* catch bus #195 from under the big blue 4a sign back to Pinesong.

Pinesong to Dress Smart – Onehunga.

Walk up to our main entrance turn left to our bus stop #5142., at approx 9:25 am catch bus #195 to New Lynn*. Head straight for bus stop #5908, by the walkway through to Lynn Mall and bus #009 for Onehunga/ Sylvia Park, it leaves at 10:00am sharp. The bus will eventually turn right into & down Onehunga Mall, as the bus starts to go around the roundabout to the right, press the STOP button, the bus will then stop in Arthur St.. Walk back along Arthur St.. At the corner note the old Dick Smith shop on the left, just up from there is the bus stop for your trip home. Cross over Onehunga Mall. Keep walking along Arthur St. to Dress Smart*. Ready to come home? walk back to the Dick Smith shop and up to the bus stop, catch either bus#008 or #009 back to New Lynn*. At New Lynn catch bus #195 from under the big blue 4a sign back to Pinesong.


Pinesong to St. Lukes shopping centre.

Walk up to the main gates, turn left and walk to our bus stop # 5142. At approx. 9:26am catch a #195 bus to the New Lynn train station*. At New Lynn walk to stop #5908, under the blue 3b sign. At approx 10:00am catch bus #233 to Midtown. Ask the driver to stop at St. Lukes*. The bus arrives outside St. Lukes Mall* at stop #8044. When you are ready to come home return to the same stop #8044. Catch bus #233 to New Lynn, get off at the New Lynn train station*. Catch bus #195 from under the blue 4a sign back to Pinesong.


Pukekohe by bus and train, easier than you think

Walk up to our bus stop No. 5142. Correct, turn left at the main entrance.
At 9:57 am catch bus No. 195 to the New Lynn train station. Catch the 10:27 am train to Britomart,
but get off at Newmarket. At 10:58 am catch the Britomart to Pukekohe train. At Pukekohe you can either stay on the train and return, or get off and walk to the Pukekohe main street. (N.B. There are no facilities at the Pukekohe train station. The walk will take approx.15minutes and you have a ramped overbridge to negotiate). Time your visit to be back at the station at either 1:08, 2:08 or 2:53 pm. Lets go for 2:08 and have lunch in the main street.
Negotiate the ramped overbridge and turn left onto Station Road, walk to East St. turn left. On the rail bridge cross over East St. then follow the footpath around to King St. and your there.
Back at the train station. Catch the 2:08 train to Britomart
but get off at Newmarket.
At Newmarket use the overbridge to cross over to the other platform and catch the 3:18 pm train to Swanson. Get off at New Lynn, walk up to bus stop 5910 under the big blue 4a sign, at 4:05 catch bus No. 195 and home to Pinesong.


Pinesong to La Rosa Gardens

A pleasant short outing. Monday – Friday. Catch a No. 195 bus at bus stop No. 5131 to Britomart. As the bus turns from Avonleigh Rd. into Godley Rd. press the red stop button. Get off at this stop (note the bus stop on the opposite side of the road for the return journey). Walk back to La Rosa Street turn right and walk up the street, (not far) until you reach the gardens (cs). To return to Pinesong, walk back to La Rosa Street, down to the bus stop on the other side of Godley Rd. and catch a No. 195 bus home, at approx. 9:54 am 10:54 am 11:54 am 12:54 pm 1:54 pm 2:54 pm 3:14 pm.

Pinesong to Laingholm and return

A short pleasant trip through the bush clad slopes of the Waitakere ranges.
Catch the 12:57 pm Bus No.195 from our bus stop No. 5142 to New Lynn train station (cs).
At the New Lynn train station walk to the bus stop under the big blue 4a sign.
At 1:40 pm catch the Bus No. 171 to Laingholm via Titirangi. This is a round trip so just sit back and enjoy. On your return to the New Lynn train station, once again walk to the bus stop under the big blue 4a sign and catch the next Bus No. 195 home to Pinesong.
Cautionery note. If you get off the Laingholm bus at any point after the Titirangi village shops, you will have at least an hour to fill in before the next bus arrives.

Pinesong to Swanson

Walk up to our main gates, turn left and walk to our bus stop #5142, catch bus #195 to the New Lynn train station*. From platform 2 catch the next train to Swanson*. Alight at Swanson*, turn left and walk a few paces along the platform to the “Swanson Station Cafe”. Enjoy a coffee or perhaps an Alfresco luncheon on the sheltered board walk. Ready to go home, walk back along the platform. Catch the next train to Britomart but get off at New Lynn*. At New Lynn catch
bus #195 from under the blue 4a sign back to Pinesong. (At Swanson check which platform your train leaves from, for platform 2 you need to go up in the lift across on the bridge then down in the lift on the otherside).

Pinesong to Orewa/Waiwera

Catch the 9:26 am bus #195 from our bus stop #5142, to the New Lynn train station. Then the 9:50am train to Britomart. At Britomart walk up to street level, then to Quay St., left along Quay St., to Lower Albert St., cross over Lower Albert St., then left up to the NEX (Northern Express) bus stop #7071. At 10:34am catch the NEX (HC Station) double decker bus to the Hibiscus Coast station Silverdale (for the best views sit on the left-hand side of each bus). On arrival at the HC Station transfer to bus #981 to Waiwera. Get off at the New World, Moana Avenue stop #4831. To come home catch bus #981 from stop #4831 at New World, that’s right where you got off. At the Hibiscus Coast station Silverdale transfer to the NEX bus back to Lower Albert St. Walk along Quay St. to the Britomart train station, catch the next train to Swanson. Get off at New Lynn and catch bus # 195 from platform C back home to Pinesong. NB. If you wish to go to Waiwera stay on the bus #981 it terminates at Waiwera, fill in an hour then catch the next bus #981 from the beach end, bus stop back to Orewa or the HC station.

Q:
How many bus services pass our main entrance?
A: Only one. Route # 195.

Q: Which bus stop do I use to go to New Lynn / Train Station & Lynn Mall ?
A: Use bus stop No.5142. Walk up to the Pinesong main entrance, turn left and the bus stop for New Lynn is straight ahead.

Q: Which bus stop do I use to go to Green Bay / Blockhouse Bay / Britomart ?
A: Use bus stop No.5131. Walk up to the Pinesong main entrance, cross over
Avonleigh Rd. to the bus stop on the other side.

Q: Can I use my “Gold Card” ?
A:
NO: Your Gold Card will not be accepted on Auckland Transport (AT) buses, trains and ferries. You must purchase and use a gold ATHOP card, registered with your GOLD CARD concession. Remember on AT bus services the gold ATHOP card concession starts at 9:00 am and continues through until midnight.

Q: How do I get a gold AT HOP card.
A:
The simplest way is to walk up to the Pinesong main entrance, catch a bus # 195 to the New Lynn Rail station.
You will need to take your Gold Card, some form of photo identification. E.g. Drivers Licence or Current Passport. $10 (non refundable) the cost of the gold AT HOP card and $5 to load onto the card and activate it.
Walk inside to their Ticket sales counter and buy a card for cash. If you go to the Customer service counter they only accept eftpos.
Ask for a gold ATHOP card. Request the sales person to load your Gold Card details then you will always receive the Gold Card concession.

Q: What is a gold AT HOP card?
A: A gold
AT HOP card is a reusable prepaid smart card for travel on Buses, Trains and Ferries around Auckland.

Q: What does AT HOP mean?
A: Lets split it in two.
AT is the abbreviation for Auckland Transport. HOP is a word that Auckland Transport selected when the first smart cards were introduced and represents the ability to hop on and hop off a bus without having to interact with the driver. You must however tag on and tag off using the card readers at entrances and exits.

Q: What timetable should I use ?
A: The “Western Bus Timetable”. Timetables are available from the Customer Service counters at both the New Lynn train station and the Britomart train station. You can check timetable information for buses, trains and ferries by a phone call to 366 6400. Or for those with internet access visit AT.co.nz

Q: On the trip descriptions what does (cs) mean ?
A: Indicates a comfort stop is available.

Q: Where do I park to pick up people arriving at the New Lynn train station.
A: When dropping off or picking up passengers there are
two 2 minute public stopping spaces in front of the bus stops on the Clark St. side of the station, just before the corner of Clarke St. and Memorial Drive.

If you park at Lynn Mall in order to use the buses or trains, there are various time limits for Mall parking and you will get towed. An unwanted experience after a pleasant day in the City or wherever.
